Morpheus8 is a new combination radiofrequency microneedling subdermal adipose device (SARD) that fractionally remodels and contours the face and body. Penetrating deep into the skin and fat, this morphs the aging face and body into a more desired smooth and sleek appearance, for all skin tones. It uses tiny needles to deliver radiofrequency energy deep into your skin, creating micro lesions that trigger your body’s natural healing response and promotes the production of new collagen and elastin to firm and remodel skin.

What to expect

  1. Prior to the treatment, a consultation with the physician assistant is required in order to make sure you are a candidate for the procedure.
  2. Numbing cream is applied to the area and left on for 45 minutes.
  3. The treatment itself takes about 30 minutes to complete.
  4. Since it is a heat based therapy, the skin may feel warm during the treatment like a sunburn. This subsides over the next few hours.
  5. Some patients may have some minimal pinpoint bleeding as a result of the procedure.
  6. There will be some redness after the procedure which usually subsides in about 24 hours.
  7. Patients are instructed to stay out of the sun for at least 48 hours as the microneedling creates deep channels into the dermis where we do not want the sun to penetrate.
  8. It is suggested to avoid exercise for 24 hours after the procedure.
  9. For optimal results, a minimum of 3 treatments are recommended about a month apart. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6 months.

Does the Morpheus8 Treatment Hurt?

Although Morpheus8 uses needles, it's not usually painful. Any discomfort that is felt during the treatment is often very tolerable. Most patients report a warm sensation like a sunburn during the treatment. Our team will also apply a numbing cream to ensure optimal comfort during your session. PUR-FORM also offers Pro-Nox (aka laughing gas) to all patients for additional pain relief during the procedure.

Is there any downtime from Morpheus8?

Downtime after a Morpheus8 session is minimal. We advise patients not to exercise for 24 hours after the procedure. Patients should expect redness, mild swelling for 2-3 days. Commonly, the redness dissipates by the next day. Patients are instructed to stay out of the sun for at least 48 hours and to use sunscreen thereafter.

Can Morpheus8 really get rid of acne scars?

Yes. Morpheus8 is super effective for acne scarring and all kinds of scars actually. Because Morpheus8 is actually a micro-needling treatment, it makes tiny abrasions in your skin in order to stimulate a wound healing response that gets your body to produce collagen and elastin and to turn over new healthy skin cells. Furthermore, it selectively delivers the radiofrequency heat to just the tips of the needles causing less trauma to the skin than traditional microneedling. It reduces the appearance of scars and other textural irregularities, especially following a course of treatments.

How many treatments will I need to see great results?

Most patients report they notice a difference after their first treatment. For optimal improvement, however, a minimum of three treatments one month apart should be completed. Because we cannot stop the aging process, maintenance treatments are recommended every six months.
