Healing, Psilocybin Therapy, and the Courage to Choose Yourself

When Alessia Sculpt sat down for our conversation on The Healthspan Collective, she radiated honesty, vulnerability, and the kind of grounded confidence that only comes from walking through the fire of personal transformation. As a content creator, podcast host, and founder of A Sculpt Body, Alessia is on a mission to help women move, live, and connect in a way that feels authentic and free from sacrifice.

But her path here wasn’t straightforward.

From Finance Career to Fitness Entrepreneur

“I actually started out working in finance for almost ten years,” Alessia shared. “I wasn’t athletic growing up, I didn’t work out, and I was just following that traditional path. But when my mom passed away, everything shifted for me.”

Her mom, who stayed committed to her workouts even during cancer treatment, inspired Alessia to attend a charity workout class in her honor. That single class was a turning point. “I nearly died trying to keep up,” she laughed, “but I remember looking around thinking, wow, my mom came here every single day. That moment connected me to her in a way I couldn’t explain.”

How Alessia Sculpt Transformed Her Life

What started as a few classes a week became a passion that helped Alessia heal. Eventually, though, her demanding finance career started to feel out of alignment.

“I knew something wasn’t right. I was burned out. My skin was breaking out, my hair was falling out. I was stressed and exhausted.”

So she tried something that scared her: teaching fitness classes on the side. “I told myself, if I hate it or if I suck at it, I’ll just never do it again,” Alessia said. “But I ended up loving it.”

Soon after, she began sharing her workouts online, long before everyone had a home workout platform. “People told me I was crazy,” she said with a smile. “But I thought, worst case, it doesn’t work. And it did work.”

Today, Alessia is a full-time creator, and her platform has evolved beyond just fitness. “I’m not a diehard fitness girl,” she explained. “I’m a regular girl who had a regular job for almost 30 years. I just want to work out because it makes me feel really good. That’s the message I share with everyone.”

Divorce, Healing, and the Courage to Choose Yourself

One of the most powerful parts of our conversation centered on Alessia’s personal life and the courageous decisions she’s made. She married young and spent twelve years with her college sweetheart before ultimately deciding to leave the marriage.

“My ex is such a great person,” she shared. “He’s kind and supportive. But we weren’t building our lives together anymore. And I realized I was more attached to the comfort and the history than I was to him as a partner.”

Walking away was one of the hardest things she’s ever done. “I’m really proud of myself for leaving even though it was so hard,” Alessia said. “People couldn’t understand why I would leave a ‘good guy.’ But I always ask, why should we stay in something that isn’t truly right for us? I’d rather be alone than with someone who isn’t a fit.”

The Role of Psilocybin Therapy in Her Healing

Alessia talked about the deep therapy work and healing practices that helped her build the self-trust she needed to make that choice. One of those tools? Guided psilocybin mushroom journeys.

“I went on these intense mushroom experiences while I was deciding whether to stay or go,” Alessia said. “In one of them, I spent an entire night side by side with my mom. It felt real, like it actually happened in another realm. She told me, it doesn’t matter what you choose, you’re going to be okay either way. That gave me so much peace. A few weeks later, I left my marriage.”

Alessia’s Wellness Philosophy

If there’s a thread through everything Alessia shares, it’s that wellness should support your life, not control it.

“The workout should be giving you energy, confidence, and mental clarity,” she said. “If you’re so wiped out you need a nap afterward, it’s time to reassess. Your wellness routine should help you live your best life, not take away from it.”

That philosophy shows up in her content, her workouts, and even her approach to relationships. After her divorce, Alessia stayed single for over a year, focusing on herself before meeting her now-partner. “I built enough trust in myself to know I would be okay on my own. And that’s what allowed me to meet someone from a healthy, grounded place.”

Living Authentically and Sharing Openly

Alessia’s honesty about divorce, dating in her thirties, and even fears about motherhood is what has connected her so deeply with her audience. “The more vulnerably I shared, the more people resonated,” she said. “There are so many of us who are making unconventional choices, and we need to hear that it’s okay.”

Her message is clear: you can leave the job that’s burning you out, you can end the relationship that isn’t right for you, and you can still create a beautiful, abundant life.

As she put it so perfectly: “I’m always talking about doing the brave thing. Whatever feels brave to you — that’s the direction to go.”
